Open access information General information about the union's work and relationships with employers can be seen by anyone who visits the Connect website. In addition, information about campaigns and policies may be publicly accessible.
However, members of the union and of re-connect can get access to much more detailed advice, information and contacts lists by logging on to the site and we would suggest that members make a habit of logging on to make sure they see all the information which is available to them on any particular subject.
How the system works When a member enters their logon details, their record is checked automatically. This means that members will see web pages which are often similar to the public version on any subject, but contain more details. Members who are active in the union as representatives will, on occasion, have access to further layers of information which are of specific relevance to their work for the union. When a member logs into the site, the logon box on each page of the site will identify whether they are logged on as a member or as a rep.
